Troubleshooting
- Pager is not receiving pages
- Check the battery to determine if it needs replacement, if so, please replace the battery, if not, review step “b.” below. Even a low battery can cause intermittent pages.
- Try paging your pager while outdoors. If you now receive pages this is an indication that either your pager has lost its sensitivity or that the building may be interfering with the signal transmission. Determine if others are experiencing the same problem in that building. If they are then this indicates the problem does not reside with your pager. Please call Contact Wireless to inform us of the issue @ 505-275-4621. If others are not experiencing problems in that building, you will need to send your pager in to Contact Wireless for repair. - Additional helpful hints
- If your pager is exposed to water, immediately take the battery out. Dry with a blow drier and let it sit for 48 hours. This may save the pager temporarily but over time the pager will most likely fail because of corrosion that begins with the original water exposure. If this procedure does not work, you will need to order a replacement pager.
- Contact Wireless does not recommend rechargeable batteries in your pager.
- Avoid exposing your pager to strong magnetic fields (i.e. MRI machines) or strong R/F (microwave) transmissions. This can permanently damage the pagers’ receiver, speaker or cause the receiver to lose its frequency setting. If this happens to your pager, you will need to order a replacement pager.
Please be advised that your pager is covered by a maintenance agreement. There are some forms of damage that are not covered under this agreement. The following are examples of these:
- Your pager has been exposed to water or excessive moisture
- Your pager has been dropped causing excessive physical damage
- Your pager has been crushed such as run over by a car
- The battery has leaked or corroded inside your pager
